CIP Summer Program

University of California, Berkeley
There is no better place to be than Berkeley in the summertime with its temperate weather, diverse population and culturally rich atmosphere, driven in part by the world-renowned University of California where our students will have this unique opportunity to stay.
Housing is provided in beautiful new dormitories with plenty of space, private bath areas, comfortable lounges and classrooms within the same complex. Students will be treated to the award winning food of the cafeteria located right next door. Laundry facilities and computers are also available for student use.
There is 24/7 security in the building and CIP staff will be staying overnight to ensure a high level of safety for all our participants. Summer housing is easily accessible to the main CIP Berkeley Center, site of the year-round program, public transit and historic Telegraph Avenue with its myriad of shops and restaurants brimming with the sights and sounds of college life.
The UC Berkeley campus offers teens with Asperger's, ADD and other learning differences a chance to experience a taste of independence while residing on campus in a college dormatory. Participants are introduced to the skills necessary for success at college including social, academic and independent living skills.
The teen Summer Program at the University of California in Berkeley gives teens with learning differences an introduction to the College Internship Program's comprehensive curriculum, which includes social thinking, executive functioning and organization, person-centered planning, reframing and more.
Students have access to campus recreation passes where they can swim in heated pools, use fitness equipment and exercise as part of maintaining a healthy life style. We will also discuss various ways to minimize stress and to stay connected to other students as a way of building community.
